Pastor Michael E. Pearson Sr. was born and raised in Freeport, Illinois, the son of the late Pastor Malcolm and Mother Daisy Pearson. Following in his father's footsteps, this 3rd generation COGIC preacher accepted the call to the ministry in 1997 and received his Elder's License on June 7, 1999. He is a graduate of Freeport High School and attended Northern Illinois University. Elder Pearson and his wife Patricia are the proud parents of three children: Yisreal, Michael Jr., and DeSean, and 4 grandchildren. Lady Pat is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who is a constant source of love and support to all that she meets. She serves as Supervisor over the Women's Department and is also a teacher of the Christian Women's Council group. She has been a substitute teacher in the Freeport community for over 10 years and is especially fond of pre-K and kindergarten. Elder Pearson was installed as assistant pastor on February 17, 2019, and then as pastor on September 25, 2019. He is a member of the Freeport Ministers Alliance. With his anointing that allows him to minister to those in need of healing of the body, mind, and soul, Elder Pearson boldly proclaims the Word of God with authority and clarity. He lives his life in accordance with the Word of God and his passion is to study the Word, live it, and share his knowledge with the world. Together, Pastor Michael E. Pearson Sr. and Lady Pat are a dynamic duo dedicated to serving God and the community. Their love for people is evident in their ministry, as they strive to help others grow in their faith and overcome life's challenges. With their passion for the Word of God and their compassionate hearts, they continue to impact the lives of many in the Freeport area and beyond.
